Melin-y-Gors is situated in the hamlet of
Cwmtydu near its delightful old smugglers' cove on the
Heritage Coast of Cardigan Bay to the south-west of New Quay in West Wales. Away from the beautiful rugged coastline, the area is peacefully rural with softly rolling countryside, pretty rivers and streams, quiet lanes and picturesque villages. The coastal footpaths along the cliff tops, where alpine-like wild flowers grow, offer breathtaking views and possible sightings of marine life and sea birds, including bottlenose dolphins, Atlantic grey seals, porpoises, razorbills, guillemots, kittywakes, and even ravens and choughs (rare species nowadays). A number of leisure activities can be enjoyed in this region including walking, cycling, horse riding, bird watching, sea and coarse fishing, sailing and water sports, and golf. Numerous visitor attractions are within easy travelling distance.
